About the role:
As a Senior Backend Engineer you’ll work within our customer-facing Analytics team which sits across all of SafetyCulture’s major products. You’ll work with SafetyCulture users to identify improvement opportunities by allowing them to see the data they want. Our vision is to make it easier for customers to not only configure rich and beautiful analytics dashboards but to also provide them with insights, anomalies and intelligent recommendations.
In this role you can expect to:
- Work on large scale systems and data stores, working to store and retrieve data from terabytes of information.
- Own aspects of leading features from end-to-end including, breaking down requirements with stakeholders, liaising with our product and design teams, assisting other engineers, and ensuring successful delivery of the project
- Use a tech stack that includes Golang, analytics tools, as well as datastore designs, data warehousing, and distributed systems
- Work in a hybrid working environment including at our HQ based in Surry Hills, Sydney
- Demonstrate SafetyCulture’s values (Think Customer, Open Honest Always, Better as a Team, Be Bold Bring Action)
You may be a great fit for this role if you have some of the following:
- Depth of knowledge in back-end coding languages, libraries/frameworks, and previous experience working for customer-facing analytics teams. (Previous Golang experience is always a plus)
- Use SQL to fine tune database queries to positively impact our customer base
- Previous experience working in fast-paced working environments in increasing senior roles, particularly for SaaS companies
- Ability to own delivery of complex features including breaking down requirements and providing reasonable estimates, especially within a customer-facing role.
- Experience with any of the following technologies, etc.: Golang, Postgres, Spark, Redis, distributed systems, data warehouses, datastore designs, or analytics workloads
