What are you going to do?

Our Client is on a mission to become the world’s dominant marketplace for securitizing and trading illiquid assets, changing the nature of investing and catalyzing a revolution in wealth creation. They source the world’s rarest, most-unique, one-of-one assets and makes them available to investors through its proprietary iOS, Android and Web apps. Investors build portfolios of investments from assets across multiple categories.

The engineer will be working on enhancing the platform, which involves updates to our primary and secondary trading markets. We will be building new ways to allow users to buy and sell shares of alternative assets and will be adding significant functionality to our app, including but not limited to dashboards, homescreens, search, reporting and portfolio management features.

What will help you succeed

  • 3-5+ years of professional experience in developing backend services for cloud-native transactional web and mobile applications with Python (Django, Flask, similar)
  • Strong software engineering skills and the ability to design, implement, test, deploy and monitor API endpoints
  • Extensive experience with NoSQL (i.e. Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch), relational databases (i.e. PostgreSQL) and a strong understanding of data modeling and relational databases
  • Clear communication around technical concepts and ideas and the ability to collaborate with engineering and other parts of the organization
  • A desire to learn, grow and enjoy the responsibility and accountability that comes with high levels of ownership and autonomy
  • Experience with or exposure to containers (i.e. Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes or equivalent)
  • Experience with or exposure to effective debugging via logging, metrics, and alerting using modern observability software and tools (i.e. CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with software testing (unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, API testing).
  • Discuss, implement, and document subjects like Engineering processes, best practices, code quality, testing, continuous integration/deployment, and more
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Experience delivering cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS Lambda, EC2, RDS, ECS and many other products in the AWS family
  • The aptitude to balance business goals and technical constraints (when to build it right vs. build the right thing)
