About the Role

WeWork is seeking a Chartered Accountant to join its tax team within the Finance department. In this role, you will oversee tax operations, focusing on GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliance. Your responsibilities will include supporting daily operations, improving processes, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Additionally, you will gain experience across various areas of tax compliance, planning, and advisory services. This position offers an opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of tax laws and their practical application in a corporate environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Goods and Services Tax (GST):
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of GST returns, including monthly and annual returns
  • Undertaking reconciliation of GST records with the books of accounts and following up with internal and external stakeholders for corrections and rectification
  • Assist in preparation of data and information required by the tax authorities
  • Review and verify GST invoices, determining ITC Eligibility, and input tax credits
  • Assist in resolving GST-related queries and issues
  • Work with Tech team to support report modifications, enhancements, and upgradations to support compliance and other requirements
  • Experience to research tax regulations to support queries and business requirements
  • Stay updated on changes in GST regulations and assist in implementing necessary updates
Income Tax and Tax Deduction at Source (TDS):
  • Assist in the computation and verification of TDS deductions/ payments
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of TDS returns and related reconciliation
  • Address TDS-related queries and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
  • Assist in the data collation, preparation and filing of income tax returns
  • Support tax planning and compliance activities, including assessing tax implications of transactions
  • Assist in responding to Tax notices, assessments, and inquiries from tax authorities
  • Stay updated on changes in income tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and timely advice

Experience and Requirements:

  • Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant
  • 0-1 year of experience after qualification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and high level of commitment
  • Experience in tax during articleship is preferred
