Senior Associate Scientist, Molecular Biology (Contract)

The Role:

 

We are currently seeking an Associate Scientist with expertise in molecular biology and microbiology to contribute to the advancement of our technology and therapeutic programs. We are searching for individuals who are naturally curious, passionate, skilled, and driven to excel in their roles within our organization.

 

Here’s What You’ll Do:

 

  • Collaborate closely with scientists to provide support in executing molecular biology experiments and assays.
  • Perform Gibson cloning and plasmid purification; sequencing analysis is desirable but not required.
  • Manage bacterial strains and conduct electrocompetent cell preparations.
  • Prepare and maintain stocks of microbial growth media, agar plates, and laboratory reagents.
  • Contribute to assay development and various molecular biology experiments as required by the company.
  • Oversee inventory of chemical and laboratory supplies.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biology, Biophysics, Chemistry, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of laboratory experience, with a focus on molecular biology or microbiology
  • Proficiency in comprehending and adhering to laboratory protocols, standard procedures, and verbal instructions. ELN experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively conveying information in individual and small group settings to stakeholders, clients, and colleagues
  • Aptitude for performing basic laboratory calculations and interpreting data presentations.
  • Proficiency in using fundamental Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Flow cytometry experience desirable but not required.
