In the United States, we have a flexible hybrid work policy for employees who live within 30 miles of our office headquartered in New York City and our office in Seattle. Employees within the New York and Seattle metropolitan areas are expected to work from the designated office twice a week, unless there is a job-specific requirement to be in the office every workday. Employees outside of these areas are considered part of our remote-first workforce. We believe our hybrid approach for those near our NYC and Seattle offices increases productivity through more in-person collaboration where possible.

The Role: Senior Associate, People Solutions

We are searching for a Senior Associate, People Solutions to provide support to many aspects of human resources including; offboarding, onboarding, data collection and maintenance, and systems management. Initially you will own Background Checks for all new hires, which involves close partnership with new hires and our external vendor. This program may also require your ownership of a vendor change in the near future. You will also initially take ownership of offboarding processes, which involves close partnership with HRBPs and supporting employees & ex-employees.

You will play a critical role in assisting with People Ops projects, processes, and initiatives so that we can best develop and retain our population of talented individuals. You will be expected to handle highly sensitive and confidential information, thus it is essential that you possess a strong degree of discretion. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, thoughtful, extremely organized and a self-starter for this critical role on our team. Our team moves quickly and needs someone that is comfortable with a fast paced environment needing little guidance once priorities are given.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of People Solutions programs and operations including, but not limited to: onboarding, total rewards, recruiting operations, performance management, offboarding.
  • Ownership of the Background check program, including vendor stakeholder management.
  • Ownership of offboarding processes, including close HRBP partnership.
  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners and other People Team stakeholders to support employee lifecycle programs and tasks.
  • Take ownership of operational workflows in HR systems such as Workday.
  • Be the first HR point of contact for employees by owning Jira tickets and the People Solutions inbox, responding within SLAs and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Ensure data integrity by organizing and maintaining employee records.
  • Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders such as IT, Recruiting and Security to ensure a seamless and successful onboarding and off-boarding process for employees.
  • Participate in people projects as determined by the needs of the organization with ability to lead and manage projects within scope and timeline.
  • Proactively identify improvements to processes, adding automation wherever possible.
  • Build out and maintain Standard Operating Procedure, document processes and workflows (e.g. employee terminations, internal transfers) via Confluence and gDrive.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, and/or Talent Acquisition in a fast-paced, global organization.
  • 2+ years of experience with Workday, or other HRIS systems.
  • Experience using Jira, or equivalent ticketing system.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Docs).
  • A strong sense of urgency and pride in your work.
  • Highly responsive to teammates and employees, with clear, concise communication.
  • Demonstrated judgment and ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters effectively.
  • Ability to identify and provide recommendations for improvements; strong desire to enhance efficiency and automate whenever possible.
  • Strong administrative skills, including: organization, ability to proactively follow up on ongoing projects, meet and exceed deadlines, and strict attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable fielding difficult questions.
  • Ability to follow documented processes, multitask, prioritize, and remain flexible in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • Demonstrated ability as a good problem solver, understands how to effectively troubleshoot and consider the wider strategic business needs.
  • Passionate about good employee experience and strong ownership of employee issues.
  • Ability to work autonomously, asking questions to gain clarity, removing roadblocks to make progress, being resourceful in finding/learning information, and identifying different options of solutions.
  • A strong interest in cryptocurrency and Gemini's mission.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resources or related field.
  • SHRM-CP qualified.
  • Experience using tools such as Greenhouse, Confluence, Slack, Lattice and Docusign.

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $119,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
