The Role
Blackpeak is seeking a Senior Associate to manage cases, conduct extensive research and analysis, finalize high quality written reports, and provide support in recruitment and development of team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Take responsibility of projects and deliverables, and act as a case manager to manage cases from preparing proposals to finalize written reports
Carry out extensive research and analysis (both primary and secondary) through desktop and database research, interviews, and traveling where necessary, and then assessing accuracy, reliability, and relevance of findings
Finalize written reports, including confirming the accuracy, logic, and overall quality of research reports to meet clients’ expectations
Track progress and ensure timely completion of projects, and ensure all reports are delivered according to agreed deadlines and within budget
Present research findings to clients in a professional manner
Maintain client relationships
Contribute to the BP internship program, including screening intern applications, conducting interviews, and providing training to interns, and managing interns
Provide support in recruitment and development of team member, including conducting interviews, mentoring and training junior team members
Manage and work with external consultants
Work closely with colleagues in Blackpeak’s offices in Asia, the Americas, and UK.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher
At least 3 years of industry experience in investigative due diligence, business intelligence research, and corporate investigations
A solid understanding of the business environment in mainland China and Hong Kong, including the key issues affecting investors
Effective communication and presentation skills – ability to communicate research findings in writing and orally in discussion with clients
Strong people management skills - ability to manage and direct team of internal researchers and work with external consultants
Strong self-management skills – ability to take initiative and ownership of cases, and produce results under tight time constraints, both independently and as a member of a team
Strong project management skills
Strong analytical skills, including critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
The ability to carry out detailed research and analysis via proprietary databases, the internet, and human sources
The ability to identify and effectively interview sources
The ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and multi-task under pressure
The ability to perform job functions with minimal direct supervision
Native or complete fluency in written and spoken English; native fluency in Mandarin Chinese
