- Explore opportunities for improving standards & cost savings by sharing best practices across different Tesco markets, benchmarking against industry standards, innovating & collaborating with other functions, consultants & vendors. - Value-engineer projects/ design to provide the best value. Review Bill of Quantity/Cost figures to validate if they are in line with encouraged costs and feedback to the design team. - Accountable to look into complex and technical info on an ongoing basis from various teams during the life of a project (- Spot all critical information & information incongruence in the inputs provided/ drawings produced/ documents built externally or internally. - Design & deliver the high value projects in consultation with TBS & UK HVAC&R Managers & Engineers. - Knowing the latest with the refrigeration industry including new technology, innovation, and energy efficient techniques. - Work with UK teams and TBS HVAC& R managers to to develop the engineering design guidelines, templates, WGLLs documents & examples, ways of working etc. that the team (e.g. Engineering development) can apply to specific site/ store. - Manage & update databases, track changes to standards, identify trends and patterns and benchmark info for use in future assignments and reporting. - Provide design calculations, sizing & location info, reports, engineering feasibility solutions etc. for specific projects as may be applicable to convey the design intent. - Lead the project NWT on specific site/ store design process from HVAC& Refrigeration during project life. - Review & validate if the shell/ engineering design produced at TBS are in line with Tesco standards, set ways of working, design guidelines etc. and meet project Key Performance Indicators- Support internal teams & external contractors/ vendors to clarify all doubts/ concerns regarding the design, drawings, specifications, supplier info etc.- Support trials, providing data and operational information.- Cultivate & maintain long-term, collaborative relationship with key partners, consultants and selected vendor organizations to drive mutually shared goals.
