Senior Associate, Client Experience
Weber Shandwick is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Senior Associate for its New York office. This position will offer exposure to multiple areas of client experience, including social media, earned media and digital — offering an exciting opportunity to support a dynamic and engaged team dedicated to delivering innovative marketing and communications solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in PR/journalism and social media, an interest in the consumer healthcare sector (though experience in health is not required), and a passion for pop culture.
The Essentials:
- Collaborate with teammates–often across multiple offices and departments–on a variety of projects
- Able to work in a dynamic team setting, but also can work independently
- Monitor brand social media channels following community management engagement protocol daily
- Keep a pulse on industry news, opportunistic trends, and social platform best practices
- Participate in category/competitive audits and recap findings
- Have strong research skills, from both a media targeting standpoint but also consumer trends and news
- Effectively execute timely media monitoring and reporting daily
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering clear and precise work, whether you’re building a media list, crafting social replies, or drafting a recap report
- Requires strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize across multiple projects
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide operational support on client projects, as directed
- Accurately maintain executional tools, trackers and reporting
- Lead creative trafficking to paid media agency
- Support website projects, including legal submissions
- Share results of the work in a structured way
- Proactively offer solutions for executional issues specific to assigned programs
- Engage, as appropriate, with client contacts
- Support, as appropriate, relative vendor management
- Compiling research, coverage and insight reports for the team and clients
- Social Media/Community Management support – inclusive of social listening, channel management, content calendar management, content posting, response matrix development, in-culture engagements
- Earned media support – researching reporters, building media lists, drafting media materials and pitches, pitching reporters and managing reporter relationships and media opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive approach to addressing issues and engaging with teams
- Confident presenter and persuasive speaker
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial and endlessly curious
- PR agency/journalism/social media internship experience
- Professional demeanor
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Resourceful and effective problem solver
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads
- Independent, motivated and driven to meet key deadlines

NYC Salary range: $62,400.00 - $70,000.00
Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
