Senior Associate, Backend Developer

The Opportunity  The MLT Technology Team is seeking to hire an MLT Senior Associate, Backend Developer to assist with supporting the organization’s cloud-first architecture. The candidate will assist with platform support across many enterprise applications (Salesforce, HubSpot, SurveyMonkey Apply, Canvas LMS, Symplicity, Avature and others) and be able to design and implement various software development tasks ranging from updating scripts to developing entirely new functionality. The successful candidate will have a desire to learn new platforms and expand their skill set. This role is critical to the tech team and the technology infrastructure of MLT because as MLT has grown, the underlying digital infrastructure needs have become even more critical. This is an exciting role that will help the candidate receive valuable hands-on coding experience. This will help support the important mission of MLT and is a hybrid role based in the MLT headquarters in Bethesda, MD. It reports directly to the Senior Director of Technology and Applications. Work You’ll Do:
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements with existing software solutions and, in particular, those based on API data flows. 
  • Implement API integrations for new platforms with front-end and third-party applications and Salesforce CRM.
  • Assist Systems Analysts with Production Operations Support duties that include multiple technology platforms.
  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code using modern software development practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to learn requirements, design solutions, and implement features.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Work effectively within an Agile/Scrum development methodology, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Deliver assigned software solutions on time and within budget.
  • Handle additional tasks essential for role efficiency and team success as needed.

  • What You have:
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Experience with API’s and software development languages
  • Ability to work on teams and quickly learn to work independently with minimal guidance
  • High aptitude for functioning in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex data and technical issues
  • Aptitude to solve complex problems with limited resources
