Senior Assistant Buyer - Women's Sleepwear (Hybrid-Dallas Area)

The Senior Assistant Buyer will be supporting the buying process of items for a specific division's sub-category. Reporting directly to the division's Sr/Buyer and working alongside other Associate/Sr. Assistant Buyers. Support driving assortment architecture, bringing an assortment to life instore, online and in marketing and ensuring accuracy in the ordering process.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Partners with Sr/Buyer on developing assortment vision for their categories/departments
• Drives instore presentation through set sell management
• Assists Sr/Buyer with building assortment plan, selecting product
• Partners with Private Brand design/sourcing teams as well as National Brand suppliers
• Assists Sr/Buyer with hindsighting, category history and market share analysis
• Audits item set-up, approves content
• Creates and maintains purchase orders/work orders for flagship and stores
• Validates set and ship dates, and vendor information
• Provides input on promotional pricing determinations and keys pricing and signing for flagship and stores
• Enters marketed item in ad tracker, updates store counts
• Partners with marketing on advertised item style-outs, provides input on event participation
• Supports digital enhancement through content management and digital inventory audit

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

• 3+ years retail buying experience; preferably with a large organization in a similar role
• Retail planning experience preferred
• Understanding of product merchandising
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
• Ability to recognize, analyze and quantify market trends
• Results oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
• Able to independently organize and prioritize broad workload to meet deadlines
• Agile, ability to adapt and shift strategy based on the circumstances of the changing business needs
• Proficient in MS word and Excel
