The Position:

GameChanger's Growth Team is charged with understanding how our coaches, athletes, and fans use our application in order to help them get more value out of their GameChanger experience. Growth is a new team at GC that will use best in class product analytics, experimentation, and product development to optimize the UX for all of our users.

As a Senior Android Software Engineer, you will use modern tools to develop features in our native Android application and across the stack. You will build engaging user-facing features by contributing your expertise, writing code, and making architectural decisions on a team of Product Managers, Designers, QA Analysts, and Engineers. You will report to one of our Product Engineering Managers.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead feature development for community engagement, scorekeeping, fan experiences, and team management throughout the stack, with a focus on our Android app.
  • Work with peers on important decisions about how our applications are architected and built.
  • Team up with designers, testers, and product managers to find the best solutions for our customers.
  • Teach and learn with engineers across the company.
  • Promote responsible engineering practices and mentor team members.
  • Drive consensus on your team and solutions to challenging problems.

Who You Are:

  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience leading successful Android projects.
  • Experience shipping beautiful, high-quality apps.
  • Passion and experienced working with the latest Android tech.
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional product team.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and organizing work within a team.

Experience:

  • Our apps are written in Kotlin and use a reactive Model View Intent (MVI) architecture driven by Realm, RxJava, and the Jetpack lifecycle components.
  • Your team will also do iOS development in Swift, so having background there would be a bonus, but is not required.
  • Our backend APIs are built with TypeScript, Node.js, Redis, Kafka, and PostgreSQL and run in AWS. It's not required that you know these, but we prefer that you are open to full-stack development.
  • Experience or interest in product analytics,  A/B testing and product experimentation at scale is an added bonus.

The target salary range for this position is between $105,000 and $210,000. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all teammate pay regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay.
