Senior Android Engineer

Join a team known for its collaboration not only between the native platforms but also with web and backend teams! We are looking for a Senior Android Developer with people who have experience working at Experian. You will report to the Vice President of IT.

You will:

  • Manage end-to-end responsibility on projects of increasing complexity, from technical design through completion and deployment.
  • Participate in the full application lifecycle (concept, development, deployment, testing, and release management).
  • Mentor other developers; help them improve their coding skills, work habits, and team collaboration.
  • Collaborate on API contracts that are documented and agreed upon by multiple partners.
  • Present and defend technical and architectural choices.
  • Investigate and Prototype new technologies.
  • Foresee future changes and lead the feature team to provide expandable and scalable solutions.
  • Participate in cross-team engineering efforts such as improving code review systems, building pipelines, and monitoring.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline/experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in mobile application development.
  • Experience with the Android framework.
  • A background in implementing MVVM architecture in Android applications.
  • Familiarity with third-party libraries such as RxJava, Dagger, and Retrofit.
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs with Android applications.
  • You understand Android UX and work with the design team to ensure UI designs are aligned with the current Android UI guidelines.
  • You are proficient in writing Kotlin code for all new developments and have experience working in Java.
  • You understand how to mock and provide end-to-end coverage for API components.
  • Have experience working with large code bases, a shared REST API library, and writing unit tests.
  • Can create rich user interactions using Jetpack components like navigation and transitions.
  • Experience with offline storage, background processing, threading, and performance optimization.
