Senior Android Engineer - Android Player

As a Senior Android Engineer within DAZN's Technology & Product Engineering team, DAZN is seeking a talented, Sr Android Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of Android Player for TV & Mobile applications for the Android platform. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Android development using vanilla Android, Kotlin, Jetpack, software design and architecture principles.

This role is full-time, based in our Hyderabad, India office, 5 days a week WFO.

As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Further develop Player on both mobile and TV platforms by writing structured, testable and maintainable code in Kotlin.
  • Provide and accept meaningful feedback through code reviews, peer programming and technical discussions.
  • Actively contribute to technical decisions, process improvement and participate in cross-team initiatives.
  • Participate in regular roll-outs by creating the release candidate build, monitoring and handling the regression issues
  • Work on bug fixing by identifying and resolving root causes
  • Perform unit tests on code
  • Stay up to date with new mobile technology trends, applications, and protocols

You will be set up for success if you have:

  • 7+ years of experience in native Android software development.
  • Publishing at least one original Android app
  • Solid knowledge of software design and architecture principles, Kotlin and Android specific tech stack (e.g. Jetpack, Coroutines, Dagger2, etc)
  • A proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
  • Experience working with an ExoPlayer will be a significant plus
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
