About the role:
Are you interested in joining a hyper-growth company? Kong is looking for a talented Senior Analyst, International Accounting who is a self-starter and ready to make an impact with a can-do attitude to join & help scale the international accounting team in India. This role will be very hands-on in all areas of accounting and the ideal candidate must be able to work cross-functionally during the month-end close process. Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines consistently and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment is a must. This position will report to the International Senior Accounting Manager. The role is based in Pune, India with a hybrid working arrangement over time.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure transactions are processed and reported in the company’s financial system in adherence to both US and local GAAP
- Take ownership of the international A/P process, including but not limited to timely processing of vendor invoices, ensuring the appropriate approvals are captured, responding to vendor inquiries, and A/P compliance reporting requirements.
- Review of employee expense reports for accuracy of coding and compliance to corporate policy.
- Perform monthly financial statement fluctuation analysis for all Kong international entities.
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements, with the ability to make recommendations to correct errors as appropriate.
- Ability to develop, drive, implement and execute process improvements to help streamline the global month-end close process.
- Help document and maintain accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Assist with technical accounting research with the ability to form conclusions and present findings.
- Assist with local audits and the preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Participate in special projects, analysis and ad-hoc tasks as required by management.
- The working hours are 2 PM IST to 11 PM IST.
What you’ll bring:
- Chartered Accountant/ CPA or equivalent is a must.
- Process-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to keep the big picture in mind
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Results-focused, team-oriented and a strong work ethic.
- 4+ years of combined Accounting experience in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
- Start-up and/or software experience is a plus.
- Experience with Netsuite and Netsuite OneWorld, Excel, Coupa, and Workday is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of local GAAP is required and knowledge of US GAAP is a plus.
- Big Four accounting experience is a plus
