Senior Analyst, Growth Analytics

In this role, you will be part of a centralized data analytics community that encourages collaborations, learning opportunities, and thought partnership from other analysts and data scientists. You will partner with Category Merchandising and other cross-functional teams to accelerate growth across Shutterfly’s product category verticals (e.g., Personalized Photo Gifts and Home Décor) through improving our understanding of category and customer performance drivers. You will be responsible for crafting key performance dashboards, performing category and customer deep dive analyses to answer critical business questions, and developing actionable insights and recommendations. You will play a key role in helping your stakeholders become a world-class data and insights-driven team. The Senior Analyst, Growth Analytics will report to the Senior Analytics Manager, Growth Analytics.
 
What you will do:
  • Partner with category business owners (Merchandising) to provide subject matter expertise and analytics insights of past, current, and future business performance while serving as a data expert and process owner.
  • Answer measurement and data integration questions: define analytics approach, retrieve, and manipulate data needed to perform analysis, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain domain expertise in relevant data sets and be able to think strategically about what data is critical to capture.  
  • Define measurement frameworks and KPIs for business performance initiatives; prototype and/or build reports; capture reporting requirements and partner with the Business Intelligence team to develop report and dashboards.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in data analytics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure the successful implementation of data-driven initiatives.
 
The skills you’ll bring:
  • Passion for driving data literacy and building a positive learning environment around analytics, data science, and data visualization topics.
  • Highly skilled at writing and optimizing SQL queries to analyze large data sets in a cloud database environment.
  • Excellent data storyteller adept at summarizing complex data analysis into easy-to-understand visuals and presentations.
  • Excel power user and experience building reports and dashboards in Tableau or PowerBI while following data visualization best practices.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership of their domain and establishes processes to organize requests into a manageable workflow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to prepare clear and concise documents and lead cross-functional meetings effectively. 
  • Working knowledge of key analytics and statistics principles such as randomized control experimentation, digital/web/app analytics, cohort analysis, attribution, etc.
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in quantitative field and 5+ years of progressive experience in an analytical role.

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed and may not be applicable to other locations.
California : [$122,550 - 174,000]
Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island: [$122,550 159,250]
Colorado and Washington: [$122,550 - 147,500]
Nevada: [$115,250 - 159,250]

This opportunity can be remote, but candidates must reside in a state in which Shutterfly is registered to do business. This includes all US states except District of Columbia, North Dakota, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wyoming.
