In this role, you will:

We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking DACH Ad Sales Manager to join our dynamic, hard-working advertising team. You will play a fundamental role by delivering on bold advertising revenue targets for the DACH region. Working with media agencies and brands directly, you will act as an ambassador for KAYAK selling across all our brands and advertising products for your market. This role will suit a fierce Sales Manager with a strong track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets to join our team and get going quickly!

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Pipeline Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy alongside building a pipeline of prospects for the DACH region.
  • Consultative Selling: Keep a close eye on the competitive landscape and industry trends, have a deep understanding of each of our ad products, our audience and wider core business to optimally build proposals and pitch our advertising solutions to clients
  • Revenue growth: Passionately seek to deliver incremental revenue from existing partners as well as pursue and close new business opportunities, expand existing client relationships, and cross-sell
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships with our direct clients and media agencies, understanding their needs as well as ensuring all return on investment targets are exceeded. Leverage commercial expertise to deepen the relationship and embed the KAYAK offering into client media plans
  • Analytical Leadership: Demonstrate a high level of analytical skill to be able to deliver well thought out campaign optimisations that achieve client business goals in partnership with the Client Success team
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams including Client Success, Ad Operations, Business strategy, Analytics and the wider commercial org

Please apply if:

  • Proven Experience in an advertising sales role or as a media planner/buyer at a media agency
  • A deep network of client and agency contacts
  • An outstanding understanding of the online media landscape
  • Strong prospecting and excellent closing ability
  • First class communicating ability to tell a story and exert influence both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel & PowerPoint
  • Solid understanding of and experience working with Salesforce is an advantage
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Proficient in German and English.

About the team:

The Ads Team in KAYAK comprises separate teams that are organised around skills, with each team having a different focus area, these teams are:

  1. Ad Sales – Selling to our partners direct and through media agencies
  2. Client Success – working in partnership with the ad sales team to make sure KAYAK is delivering against our partners KPIs
  3. Advertising Operations – Making sure our campaigns are set up accurately, on time and troubleshooting any technical issues.

The teams combined are responsible for delivering KAYAKs advertising revenue goals and driving travel advertising innovation. As advertising specialists, this team has in-depth knowledge across a breadth of topics and ensures that this knowledge is used in the best way to meet our clients’ needs.
