Senior Accounting Manager

We are looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to help build and scale the accounting function to support the growth of the business. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for managing the GL and various accounting operations. To succeed in the role, you must be a thorough and versatile professional, have proven experience in accounting operations, enjoy solving problems, and work well in a small, cross-functional, dynamic team.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the execution of the recurring financial month-end close process including approving month-end journal entries, consolidations, reconciliations, flux, reporting, and ensuring completion in an accurate and timely manner
  • Provide oversight and review of other accounting areas, including Accounts Payable (and T&E), Payroll, Taxes and Revenue operations
  • Manage, mentor and coach a team of 2 accountants
  • Help to build and maintain a comprehensive policy and procedures manual for all accounting and financial reporting functions
  • Optimize existing systems and support future integrations to scale operations and accelerate month-end close
  • Own the preparation for Front’s financial audit with Big 4 firm. Serve as the liaison with auditors
  • Perform ad-hoc projects, as needed

What skills & experience do you need?

  • CPA with 7+ years of accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred. 4+ years of management. Experience in the SaaS industry is a plus
  • Experience with ERP Systems (Netsuite) and efficiency/automation solutions (spend management, reconciliation tools, close management solutions, etc.)
  • Possess strong communications skills (oral and written) and ability to translate complex tax subject to both tax and/or non-tax counterparts.
  • Demonstrate strong project management and ability to identify, analyze, offer solutions and execute solutions to tax problems.
  • Process-driven mentality and devise solutions that are scalable and practical

This role is open to hybrid or remote. If hybrid, you are expected to be in our San Francisco office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The San Francisco base salary range for this full-time position is $124,000- $151,000.  

This position is also open to Remote US. Note that we are only able to hire for this role in the following states:
Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, Washington, Tennessee, Missouri

Zone 2: $111,700 - $136,200
Zone 3: $105,400 - $128,600 

Individual compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, training, and market conditions. At Front, we take a market-based approach to pay. In addition to cash compensation (base salary, which may include commissions or overtime pay where applicable), Fronteers are eligible to receive equity in the company.
