Senior Accountant, Revenue and Billing Operations

Reporting to the Revenue Manager, the Senior Accountant, Revenue and Billing Operations will play a major role in our Order to Cash process ensuring operational excellence in accuracy of customer invoicing, cash receipts and providing excellent service to both our external and internal customers. This includes invoicing, responding to customer questions and escalations, and assessing and processing billing adjustments.

In addition, the Senior Accountant, Revenue and Billing Operations will perform critical monthly revenue close duties including recording journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing internal revenue reports as needed. The ideal candidate will be expected to exhibit a high degree of being detail oriented, be self-motivated, results driven, and ability and focus to research root causes as problems arise. The role is a hybrid role based at the Company’s headquarters in Redwood Shores, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and send monthly invoices to customers
  • Investigate and respond to customer billing inquiries
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to facilitate accurate, timely, and complete resolutions on outstanding matters impacting invoicing
  • Execute monthly revenue and accounts receivable close procedures, ensuring accurate results are delivered timely for reporting in accordance with US GAAP
  • Responsible for account reconciliations and analyses
  • Prepare reports provided to Finance/Sales/Operations 
  • Support audit deliverables and help coordinate with auditors during the year-end audit
  • Calculate and substantiate reserve balances
  • Assist with special projects as needed by Management
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives and implement scalable solutions to improve billing accuracy and collection processes 

Technical Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of work as an accounting professional
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and controls governance

Additional Skills

  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical  and communication skills
  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • A solutions-oriented team player and effective communicator with all levels of management and cross functional organizations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with team members on various assignments, regardless of their level of complexity
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

The targeted base salary range for this role is listed in the compensation section below. Actual salary may be above or below this range based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. In addition, this position may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions. The targeted pay range for this role in US CA is: $95k-120k
