Overview:
We’re looking for a Senior Inventory Accountant to join our Gopuff North America Accounting team. Building and maintaining a best-in-class accounting function are core to what will make Gopuff successful. This will be a key role in the Accounting organization that will provide critical analysis related to inventory and product margin reporting and will also play an integral part to our inventory accounting system implementation. This role reports to the Inventory Accounting Manager and partners with teams across the global organization. This is a hybrid position (onsite Tues-Thurs) in our Philadelphia or Miami office
You Will:
- Prepare month-end summary of inventory and COGS activity
- Participate in month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Collaborate with IT and Engineering teams to ensure accurate inventory reporting within the accounting system
- Partner with operations to establish appropriate inventory controls to ensure accurate reporting
- Review and investigate the perpetual inventory; work with operations to review and adjust inventory transactions as necessary
- Establish, implement, and document new policies and internal controls related to inventory
- Partner with accounts payable, merchandising, and operations to reduce variances related to invoicing pricing and receiving information
- Prepare documentation and schedules required for audits
- Ad hoc analysis as necessary
You Have:
- Four-year college degree required, with an emphasis in accounting or finance and strong understanding of procure-to-pay and order-to-cash accounting processes
- 3+ years of experience in an inventory accounting role or public accounting experience auditing CPG or retail food service companies
- Strong Excel skills (index, pivot tables, lookups, power query) and experience working with large datasets
- Experience using inventory accounting and reporting systems (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP) and data tools such as SQL and BI tools is a plus
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a remote team environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills - verbal and writing
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Good at working independently - proactive, self-starter
