ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, month end close process, G/L account reconciliations, financial reporting and external audit support. You will analyze variances and make recommendations to ensure expense controls and process improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare journal entries for full cycle month-end close process and perform G/L account reconciliations
- Manage key accrual accounts, analyze revenues, and expenses
- Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Analyze general expenses and trends; and make recommendations on appropriate levels and ensure expense controls
- Audit and review high volume transactions; take appropriate actions to address and adjust incorrect transactions
- Proactively detect, research, and resolve general expense items including review of invoices to ensure proper account coding
- Work closely with the business partners and FP&A team to ensure that expenses are properly captured
- Review and reconcile prepaid accounts and fixed assets
- Identify and recommend internal control and general expense process improvements, including full automation and design leveraging new finance platforms
- Project manage the full accounting lifecycle, from initial setup, monitoring, to month-end close
- Assist in system implementation and testing of new product features
- Assist in implementation of new accounting guidance
- Assist in all internal and external audits
- Assist in all compliance issues
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of five years of experience at a compant with more than $200M in revenue
- eCommerce, retail or consumer products experience is required
- Intermediate skills with ERP solutions, ideally NetSuite
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Strong analytical skills, including advanced skills with Excel
- A mix of public and private accounting experience preferred
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- BA|BS in Accounting or Finance
- English, additional language(s) an advantage
