Join us and start as a Senior Accountant in the Finance team!
Position Summary
Etraveli Group, since it is constantly growing and developing its activities in the global market, is looking for a Senior Accountant to support the expansion of its Banking team, located in the Athens office. The Senior Accountant will report to the Banking Team Leader and will closely collaborate with the rest of our global teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing payment processes, managing daily bank reconciliations across multiple currencies, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to system improvements, process automation, and strategic financial initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform payments for the international group entities.
- Responsible for the daily bank reconciliations and proper documentation of bank transactions in multiple currencies and entities. Ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and correctly classified in a timely manner in the accounting ERP.
- Check and perform refunds and follow up on cross functional payment requests.
- Work with Finance, Treasury and Operations teams to resolve payment issues, handle vendor queries, and manage refunds.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide documentation and support for banking-related audits.
- Participate in technical system upgrades and integrations to optimize banking activities.
- Manage banking tasks for month-end and year-end closings, ensuring compliance with group guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
- 5+ years in Accounting or Finance with a focus on banking, payments, or financial operations, desirable to have a tracking record of leading a small team.
- Expertise in multi-currency transactions, bank reconciliations, complex payment flows, cash management, accounts payable and IC transactions.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. MS Dynamics, D365, SAP, Oracle etc.), experience with TMS will be considered a plus.
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, audit processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record of process improvements and automation implementation.
- MS Excel / G-Sheet skills including Χlookups and Pivot tables.
- Experience in fully automated processes.
- Analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of procedures end to end.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Error solving abilities.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
- Experience in handling vast amounts of data.
- Personal and professional integrity.
- Proficient in English (verbal and written).
- A’ Grade Accounting License is required.
