AlayaCare are seeking a Senior Accountant for their ANZ Finance team, with 3+ years' experience in Financial Audit/Corporate Accounting to take ownership of ensuring a timely period-end close and accurate financial reporting, as well as assisting with day-to-day business operations.

About the role

 

Reporting to the Global Corporate Controller, this role will work autonomously on key metrics reporting, account reconciliations and tax filings, with the opportunity to work on and introduce their own process improvements, setting up the ANZ Finance team for success.

 

This role has the scope for growth to a leadership position and would be well suited for a recently CA/CPA qualified Accountant who is eager to work within the SaaS sector, having full ownership & understanding of financial statements for AlayaCare in Australia.

 

More specifically, you will be completing tasks such as: 

 

  • Ownership of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for all matters in Australia.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS.  
  • Maintain and implement internal controls. Highlight shortcomings and suggests improvements in current compliance processes, systems, and procedures. 
  • Assist with annual year-end audit and other ad-hoc external audits. 
  • Key point of contact for all Australia specific finance matters (internal & external). 
  • Collaborate and support the FP&A team with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. 
  • Assist with the preparation of the income tax return, fringe benefit tax return, annual payroll tax return and research and development claims.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and pay sales taxes. 
  • Prepare, reconcile, and pay payroll taxes. 
  • Perform other accounting duties and supporting finance team in North America as required.  
  • Support the Global Corporate Controller with ad-hoc projects as needed. 

 

What we're looking for in a Senior Accountant;

 

  • 3+ years of experience in financial audit or corporate accounting roles. 
  • Prior experience assessing, adopting and optimising new technology. 
  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.  
  • Advanced organisational skills to keep track of multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.  
  • Advanced interpersonal and collaboration skills to build and maintain strong working relationships within Australia and in Global teams. 
  • High energy, flexible, and a willingness to take initiative. 
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and/or IFRS is an asset. 

 

It would be a bonus if you also have:

  • Audit firm experience.
  • Prior experience or demonstrated capacity to lead, coach and mentor teams.  
  • Experience working within the SaaS industry
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and/or IFRS is an asset.
