About the Role
As Senior Account Manager in Tokyo, you’ll be at the forefront of managing and expanding our relationship with this Japanese partner and other iconic Japanese brands.
This role involves working closely with our CEO and COO to navigate high-stakes partnerships and negotiate groundbreaking IP agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and COO to define strategic objectives and contribute to revenue growth through IP licensing initiatives in Japan
- Act as the primary liaison with the largest Japanese entertainment company, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
- Negotiate and secure rights to 5+ additional IPs within the contract period.
- Draft and coordinate global partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with both Japanese and international stakeholders.
- Prospect for new partners, prepare sales materials, and deliver compelling presentations to secure additional IP rights.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with internal teams (legal, brand marketing, and finance) and external stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings, with up to 25% travel.
- Facilitate executive-level meetings, hosting talent and executives as required.
Requirements
- Location: Resides in the Tokyo metro area.
- Language Skills: Fluent in Japanese and English.
- Work Environment: Work from home, with travel to client offices and events as needed.
- Experience:
- Enterprise sales and executive relationship management with Japanese clients
- Prior experience in entertainment (manga, anime, gaming) preferred
- Familiarity with IP licensing is a strong plus.
- Interpersonal Skills: Confident in communicating with and hosting executives and creative talent.
