The Role:

Burson has an immediate opening for a Senior Account Executive based in New York City to join our Consumer & Brand Practice, focused on clients in the Sports and Entertainment sectors for large activations and events coupled with media relations and athlete sponsorship communications.

This role requires an individual who is proactive, capable of blending trends and culture into meaningful PR strategies, with an understand the media landscape – specifically in sports and culture - and what editors/reporters need today.

Qualified candidates will have experience supporting consumer communications efforts across sports or consumer lifestyle / fashion with the ability to anticipate client and team needs, develop strategy, create messaging, and build and leverage strong media contacts. Experience in activating brand/client sponsorships in sports will be preferred.

The Work:

•Serve as a key team member contributing to the execution and management of multiple projects and workstreams

•Develop media materials (pitch emails, reporter backgrounders, spokesperson briefing material, messaging)

•Develop targeted media lists, pitches, and learn/follow clients' priority media

•Develop media relationships to contribute to pitching and coverage to meet client objectives

•Understanding of social platforms to garner media coverage for client campaigns

•Identify trends happening amongst key audiences and bring forth ideas

•Provide in-office support for press requests and product needs in a timely manner

•Coordinate shipments and messenger services for product deliveries and press samples

•Track and analyze media hits and campaign results against KPIs; maintaining media tracker of press coverage

•Develop deep knowledge of client industry and contribute to the development of strategic client plans

•Support development and execution of media and influencer events

•Ability to own projects and communicate effectively with team members

•Participate in client meetings, accurately capturing meeting notes, next steps

 

Experience that Contributes to Success:

•2-3 years of PR experience, agency preferred, with interest in Consumer brands, sports and entertainment.

•Strong writing, media, and research skills

•Results-focused approach and willingness to go the extra mile for clients

•Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

•Highly detail-oriented, with excellent time-management skills.

•Travel and possibility of working outside of business hours for event staffing needs

•Experience in Microsoft Office, Cision, MuckRack, Brandwatch and Google Workspace preferred

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $40,000 to $85,000.  Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.  We offer a competitive benefits package, click here for more details -  https://mybenefits.wpp.com/.
