Security Operations Manager

Essential Job Duties

BambooHR is looking for a Security Operations Manager, who will be a key leader in our growing security operations team.  Reporting directly to the Director of Security, you will be responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise in deploying and managing information security technology solutions and tools. 

You will:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of Security Operations, ensuring monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents and threats.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective incident handling.
• Lead and mentor a team of security analysts, providing guidance, training, and coaching to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as IT, legal, and compliance, to align security operations with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and implement security tools, technologies, and processes to enhance capabilities in threat detection, incident response, and security analytics.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive security documentation, including incident response plans, playbooks, and reporting mechanisms.
• Analyze security data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and present findings to stakeholders and leadership.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and ensure that security operations adapt to emerging trends and technologies.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT security, with at least 2 years in a security operations center or incident response role.
• Strong understanding of security technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, antivirus, and vulnerability management tools.
• Proven experience in leading and managing teams, providing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and remain calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements, such as NIST, PCI DSS, and GDPR.
