Vast is looking for a Full Time Security Officer to support our Hawthorne, CA site. As a Security Officer, you will work directly with the Principle Security Officer to develop and implement security procedures for our test site.

This is a non-exempt position based out of our Long Beach, CA facility.

We are currently hiring for the below schedules:

Monday- Friday 9:00am-5:30pm

Responsibilities:

Assist guests with the ENVOY check in process
Verify ID and POC of visitors
Issue the appropriate visitor/temp employee badges
Patrol all buildings and sites
Observe and report all suspicious activity
Report and document all incidents to Security Management
Escort vendors on/off site if requested
Assist other departments as needed
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalency certificate
CA BSIS Guard card
2+ years of professional experience in security operations in an industrial environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:

High level of customer service skills
Articulate and polite
The ability to verbally de-escalate a situation
BSIS or other security training
The ability to work independently

Additional Qualifications:

Must be able to work in severe climate conditions: heat, wind, and cold

Salary Range: California

$20—$25 USD

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
