SoftOne is looking for a Security Engineer to join our high caliber team.
Your contribution to the success of the team
- Analyze the company’s infrastructure, services and applications for security and data privacy issues.
- Assess the effectiveness of security controls and propose new and/or updated controls and assist in the remediation of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
- Conduct, investigate, review and address vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
- Design and implement security processes that will protect the company’s infrastructure and data privacy based on principles of least privilege and need-to-know.
- Address vulnerabilities identified by Vulnerability Management and EASM services to continuously improve the company’s security posture.
- Design, implement and maintain Firewall and Web Application Firewall infrastructure and induct new services into the perimeter security infrastructure.
- Monitor, report on, and assist in the remediation organizational infrastructure, services, and systems for potential security incidents.
- Investigate security best practices and remain current on known and emerging threats and vulnerabilities, assess risk and coordinate with other departments to manage these as directed by the CISO.
- Contribute to all areas of security as a team member and collaborate with IT, and other departments to maintain and improve the safety of employees and the company’s security posture.
- Document work done, processes and procedures and contribute to the knowledge base.
Your Qualifications & Skills:
- BSc or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related fields.
- Proven professional experience (6+ years) in data protection, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, system administration or another related field is required.
- Strong knowledge of network access, identity, access management, installation, integration, and optimization of system components.
- Knowledge and high levels of expertise in Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), IDS/IPS are a requirement. Expertise in Fortinet products is significant.
- Knowledge and expertise in other advanced security solutions such as Network Access Control (NAC), IDS/IPS, Privilege Access Management (PAM), Vulnerability Management, SIEM, EDR/XDR, AV, Azure and Microsoft 365 security implementations, compliance monitoring will be considered as a plus.
- Experience with security system design tools, methods, and techniques.
- An understanding of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux (Debian or Ubuntu distributions)
- Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS is an advantage.
- Professional security qualifications are important.
