Who We Are
We are seeking a Security and Enterprise Engineer to join our IT team responsible for the overall support, maintenance, and administration of our Virtual Services Infrastructure across both our on-premises and cloud environments. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and scalability of our server infrastructure, including the management of VMware, Camera/Security platforms and cloud-hosted services such as Papercut, Postfix, Ansible, Dell Openmanage, and Actifio among other systems.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Security and Enterprise Engineer to work with both on-premises and cloud-hosted environments in a large-scale enterprise setting. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of key infrastructure components in an evolving, hybrid IT landscape.
What You'll Do

Shift: 100% onsite, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST

Windows Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain specific Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 systems across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Security Patching and Updates: Regularly apply security patches and updates to specific on-premises and cloud-based servers to ensure compliance and protect against vulnerabilities.

VMware Virtualization: Support VMware environments by maintaining ESXi hosts, vSphere, and managing virtual machines, ensuring high availability and performance. Additionally, maintain health of physical/on-prem infrastructure and partner with external resources to procure parts/service when required

Hybrid Cloud Integration: Work on integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud platforms, including hybrid identity management, cloud storage solutions, and ensuring secure connectivity between environments.

Cloud Service Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure resources for performance and cost efficiency, making adjustments as needed to maintain high service availability.

Disaster Recovery and Backup: Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for both on-premises and cloud systems, ensuring robust backup solutions and regular recovery testing.

Monitoring and Automation: Leverage monitoring tools (e.g., Thousand Eyes, Axonius among others) and PowerShell/DSC scripting to automate tasks, optimize server management, and improve response times for incidents.

Incident Response and Problem Management: Lead or participate in root cause analysis for critical infrastructure incidents, providing solutions to prevent future occurrences.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with networking, security, and application teams to support hybrid cloud environments and ensure seamless integration across services.
What You'll Need

3+ Years of Windows Server Experience: Strong experience managing Windows Server in large enterprise environments, including hybrid cloud setups.

Active Directory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP, and Azure Active Directory for secure and scalable identity management.

Cloud Infrastructure Management: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), managing virtual machines, storage, networking, and cloud security.

VMware Virtualization: Proven experience working with VMware ESXi, vSphere, and virtual machine lifecycle management.

Networking Knowledge: Experience with managing DNS, DHCP, VPN, and other network services in both on-premises and cloud environments.

PowerShell Scripting: Ability to automate server management tasks and configurations using PowerShell/DSC, with a focus on both on-premises and cloud-based solutions.

Backup and Disaster Recovery: Experience designing and managing backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for both local and cloud-based infrastructure.

Security Compliance: Knowledge of security best practices for both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including patch management, firewall configurations, and access control.

Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Thousand Eyes, Axonius, or other cloud and on-premises server monitoring solutions.

Incident Response: Experience leading incident management processes and driving root cause analysis for infrastructure issues.
- Travel may be required and would at most be 20% of your working hours.

Azure or GCP Certifications: Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Certified.

Experience with Hybrid Cloud: Hands-on experience with hybrid cloud deployments, including secure data migration between on-premises and cloud environments.

Storage Solutions: Experience with cloud storage services such as Google Cloud Storage, as well as SAN/NAS management in a hybrid environment.

Automation Tools: Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) for cloud deployments.

Security Best Practices: Understanding of server hardening, cloud identity security, and network firewall management in hybrid environments.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Communication and Team Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively across different teams and support both on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
