Duration: Project Based (7-10 Day Activation Period) with potential option for renewal

Requirement: Must have a valid passport and be located within 2 hours from an international airport

Scope of Work
The Security Advisor will deploy to food relief activations around the globe as one of the first WCK boots on the ground following natural disasters and crisis situations. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide continuous assessments of the safety and security situation on the ground faced by WCK team members and to advise the Director of Operational Security, Activation Manager, and team members on safe operations. The incumbent will be expected to escalate any concerns to the Director of Operational Security while mitigating hazards on the ground to the greatest extent possible. This position will not be expected to lead security efforts in conflict zones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessments: Provide rapid assessment of the safety and security situation on the ground and provide guidance to the Director of Operational Security and the Activation Manager. #RiskAssessment
- Emergency Planning: With the assistance of the Director of Operational Security, create situation and location-specific contingency plans for foreseeable emergencies. #EmergencyPlanning
- Emergency Response: In the event of an emergency impacting WCK people or operations, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the response in the field. This may include providing emergency medical aid, coordinating with local first responders and evacuation services, and providing direction to team members. #EmergencyResponse
- Vehicle Tracking and Journey Management: When required, monitor and track vehicle movements to include details of vehicle driver and passengers. #Logistics
- Training and Guidance: Provide briefings to team members, teach basic skills as needed, and correct unsafe behavior. #Training
- Situation Monitoring: When required, maintain situational awareness of the deployment area, including tracking local conditions, potential threats, and other relevant factors that may impact WCK operations. #SituationMonitoring
- Documentation: When required, ensure accurate documentation of all activities, communications, and intelligence gathered during the deployment. #Documentation
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medical certifications including, but not limited to:
- Advanced First Aid/CPR
- Wilderness First Responder
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Two years experience as a volunteer or professional with emergency responsibilities in fire/ems, search and rescue, law enforcement, military, wilderness guiding, or similar.
- Fluent in the English language; additional language proficiencies a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in a leadership role with responsibility for the safety and security of a team.
- Practical experience delivering prehospital medical care in a volunteer or professional capacity.
- Experience performing risk assessments and creating travel plans internationally.
- Proficiency in additional areas such as helicopter safety, boating safety, and off-road vehicle operations are a plus.

Working Conditions:
- Deployment: This role requires the ability to deploy to various locations on short notice and for at least 7 consecutive days.
- Environment: Work in dynamic and potentially challenging environments, including disaster zones and extreme temperatures.
- Hours: Flexible hours, including weekends, throughout the activation.
Compensation:
- Day rates: (will vary depending on experience).
- Expenses: Travel and accommodation expenses covered during deployment.
