Job Summary

The Security Advisor in the Government Identity Card domain will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, security, and reliability of identity management and credentialing systems. This position will work collaboratively with government agencies and stakeholders to assess risks, provide strategic security guidance, and implement best practices to protect sensitive identity data.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze security risks associated with identity card systems and processes.
  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design secure identity systems and implement security controls throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments; report on system vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Provide security awareness training to stakeholders and team members.
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats and trends in the Government Identity sector.
  • Serve as a point of contact for government agencies regarding security inquiries and best practices.
  • Work within a project management framework to ensure timely delivery of security services.
  • Engage in incident response planning and disaster recovery strategies relating to identity security breaches.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.

 

Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience in information security with a focus on government projects or identity management.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO/IEC 27001).
  • Experience with identity and access management systems.
  • Understanding of government regulatory requirements for identity security.
  • Strong technical understanding of security architectures and technologies.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are preferred.
