ABOUT THE ROLE
Uncommon Goods is seeking facilitators of our fast-growing category: virtual Experiences! Reporting to the Experiences Manager, the Virtual Experience Facilitator will be the face of Uncommon Experiences during our online classes. These online classes cover a range of interests including cooking, crafting, painting, mixology, lectures, and maker space tours. 

Our Virtual Experiences Facilitators each work on 1-10 classes per week, totaling 3-30 hours weekly. The hourly rate for this position is $23.00/hr. Scheduling is flexible and will depend on the number of scheduled Experiences and Facilitator availability. Shifts will occur on weeknights and both day and evening shifts on the weekend days. There will be some hours in December (especially the last week of Dec.) Season is January and February and will be 10+ hours most weeks.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Efficiently operate our conferencing program (we use Zoom) to provide a smooth experience for the instructors and participants.
  • Maintain a solid line of communication with instructors and share relevant feedback and updates in pre-class tech checks.
  • Provide email recaps to the Experiences Team after each class with a summary of highlights, what could have gone better, who attended the class, and ideas for improvement.
  • Appear on camera as a helpful and engaging representative of Uncommon Goods, interacting with the instructors and attendees to create a fun and informative session.
  • There may be additional opportunities to collaborate with the Experiences Team as needed on administrative tasks or take some shifts as a lead with additional training provided.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enthusiastic, personable, confident quick learner with a can-do spirit who is passionate about details.
  • Able to multi-task and respond in the moment during classes and experiences while remaining calm and maintaining brand voice.  
  • Problem-solver; capable of identifying the root cause of disruptions in the customer’s experience and work to resolve the issue quickly. 
  • Understand the importance of great customer service and possess the ability to meet our service-related goals and expectations.
  • Prior experience in education, event-hosting, and/or customer service is preferred.
  • Proficient with Zoom or similar online conferencing program.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Applicants must be open to working outside of traditional business hours (evenings and weekends) to support/facilitate classes.  
  • Must reside in New York, Florida or Texas.
  •  High-speed Wi-Fi, a quiet place to work uninterrupted, and access to a computer system with a webcam and the ability to open PDF and web-hosted documents are required (not phone, tablet or chromebook).
