Summary of the Role:

The SEO Strategist will be responsible for developing and executing SEO strategies to improve the organic search performance of M-Files’ websites. This role involves conducting keyword research, optimizing content, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing technical SEO improvements to enhance the website's visibility and ranking on search engines.

Responsibilities and Duties:

SEO Strategy and Implementation:

  • Develop and execute SEO strategies to improve organic search performance. Collaborate with local teams to identify the most valuable keywords and develop strategies around them, aligned to pipeline targets, prioritizing the right content that needs to be developed in all countries.
  • Develop and manage a website content calendar that aligns with SEO goals and business objectives. Actively contribute to other content development and ensure SEO insights and strategies are integrated into the overall content planning process. Optimize existing content by updating meta tags, page titles, headers, keyword density, internal linking, and removing duplicate content across all regions.
  • Conduct regular technical SEO audits to identify and resolve issues related to site architecture, crawlability, indexation, and mobile optimization. Implement structured data and other technical SEO improvements. Use SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog) to track and analyze organic website traffic, manage website errors and 404 errors, and implement redirects to newer content. Identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization based on data analysis. Share insights and feedback on regional SEO performance and collaborate on strategies to improve results.
  • Lead link-building strategy across all regions, identifying the right partners, training local teams and local PR agencies for implementation, and monitoring backlinks to maintain a clean link profile. Develop and execute a link-building strategy to improve the website's authority and ranking. Identify and pursue opportunities for backlinks from reputable websites and industry influencers. Monitor and analyze the impact of link-building efforts on search performance.
  • Work closely with the website manager to implement technical SEO improvements.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align SEO efforts with overall digital marketing strategies.  Train the digital team and keep them updated on new trends and algorithm updates. Ensure consistency between any active paid campaigns' landing pages and the website.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify key competitors' strategies. Use insights from competitor analysis to refine SEO tactics, identify new opportunities, and outperform competitors in search rankings for competitive and industry-specific keywords.

Requirements

Who You Are/Qualifications and Skills:

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in SEO or a related digital marketing role.
  • Experienced in implementing SEO strategies in non-English countries, ideally in Europe, and understanding the challenges of content localization.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Screaming Frog.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development languages as they relate to SEO.
  • Knowledge of structured data and schema markup.
  • Proficient in using WordPress for content management, including creating and editing blogs, articles, content pages, and posts.
  • Experienced in optimizing images for web use, including proper file formats and compression, to enhance page load times and SEO performance.
  • Proficient in using Google Web Core Vitals and Lighthouse for assessing and improving website performance, user experience, and SEO metrics.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Communication:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate SEO strategies and results to stakeholders.

Project Management:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay informed about the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices.
  • Experiment with new SEO tools, techniques, and strategies to continuously improve performance.
