We’re looking for a Scrum Master to join our Agile Practice Team. You'll be working with the Product and Delivery Squads that are at the heart of our Bettering Department to deliver customer focused outcomes.
About the Role
Our Scrum Masters are servant leaders, thrive in a fast-paced environment and are the driving force behind our teams. They help the organisation by creating an environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement. Their responsibilities include:
- Working with squads to ensure consistency of agile delivery practices and roadmap alignment.
- Minimising external disturbances for the squads by removing blockers and impediments, managing risks, and protecting sprint commitments.
- Ensuring ceremonies occur and are effective by facilitating Stand-Ups, Reviews, Planning & Retros.
- Supporting the squads in framing problems, identifying solutions and opportunities by facilitating and leading design thinking workshops.
- Use of continuous improvement techniques to remove bottlenecks in the delivery process.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure effective backlog management, refinement, estimation, and prioritisation.
- Aiding with creating effective goals for the squad and facilitating MVP conversations.
- Tracking, monitoring & reporting progress towards Release, Feature and Sprint Goals.
- Working collaboratively with Agile Practice Team to improve agile maturity levels and support the Ways of Working to ensure their adoption across the department
- Mentoring and coaching teams and squads, establishing an authentic culture of openness and respect within the team.
About You
We are looking for skills that will allow the successful applicant to fit in our team and culture;
- You are highly motivated, have stacks of energy and have a strong ability to work with people to get the absolute best from them.
- You are an experienced Scrum Master or have performed this role as part of a squad
- You are passionate about Agile and love to work within the team to continuously review and improve the Ways of Working.
- You have formal Agile qualifications, such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- You have strong knowledge of Scrum, Lean, Kanban, and other Agile development techniques
- You have good knowledge of Agile practices, such as Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Testing, Pairing and Automated Testing
- You have demonstrated ability to coach, inspire and motivate people to change their values and practices in line with agile principles and a product development framework
- You have prior experience working with digital products
- You have very good communication and stakeholder management skills
