Job Purpose:
To support the delivery of customer orders, on-time and in full as per agreed service levels through effective planning and scheduling of fleet for loading at the terminals/deports across the country. This role specifically is responsible for the lubes planning, scheduling, dispatching and confirmation in addition to supporting the Scheduler on the other scheduling activities. The role requires constant interface with Customer Service Centre and the Businesses for efficient delivery of the VEG Customer promise. The role also requires ensuring efficient utilization of the transport fleet to meet the unit cost target for secondary transport.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Ensures timely delivery of Customer Lubes Orders and consistency in Service
- Ensure daily availability of Lubes Fleet for order scheduling
- Plan Lubes schedules in advance, in line with the lubes pre-plan from the Business to ensure fleet capacity is optimized and for quick delivery to customers.
- Assist to provide accurate information to the CSC by constantly coordinating with Hauliers, the Dispatchers and the Drivers.
- Support the resolution of Customer complaints and disputes concerning deliveries.
- Assist to ensure procedures, requirements and good practices are observed for safe, timely and efficient product delivery. Specifically makes judgments around delivery patterns for multiple drops to avoid vehicle instability and cost in the order fulfilment process.
- Assist to ensure cost effective and safe route planning, the use of the large size vehicles by challenging order sizes, increasing vehicle utilization and in the process reducing costs/risks associated with road transport.
- Assist to drive delivery of Service Level Agreement targets: Delivery On-Time (DOT) and On-Time & In Full (OTIF) targets by implementing an efficient and fast order planning and scheduling.
- Pro-actively identifies delivery constraints e.g. supply issues, traffic jams and anticipated long weekends, and takes initiative to deal with / seek support to smoothen the schedule to prevent loss of sales.
- Shares Daily Lubes order status reports for quick management decisions
- Plan schedules, taking into consideration Customer locations, available fleet, available product and the safety of the load in the case of multi-drop trips.
- Assist the Scheduler in the performance of his role.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Good knowledge of hydrocarbon and petroleum product transportation
- High analytical skills and exposure to business process improvement activities
- A demonstrable knowledge in Road Transport planning
- Knowledge in SAP
