  • Job Description:
  • A SCALA Specialist to play a crucial role in migrating a legacy cost transparency solution to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate must  have deep expertise in SCALA, with the ability to understand and refactor complex code, rules, and business logic. You will work closely with the GCP Architect to ensure the smooth transition of application logic and data into GCP services like Spanner.
    Key Responsibilities:
  • Refactor and optimize SCALA-based cost transparency solution for GCP migration.
  • Understand and interpret existing SCALA code, business rules, and logic.
  • Collaborate with the GCP Architect to integrate SCALA logic with GCP services (Spanner, Cloud Functions, etc.).
  • Assist in filtering healthcare procedures, associating codes, and building cases for cost estimation.
  • Ensure seamless migration of business rules and logic into the new cloud architecture.

  • Required Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in SCALA: Deep understanding of functional programming and SCALA’s concurrency model (e.g., Futures, Actors).
  • Code Refactoring: Experience in analyzing and optimizing complex SCALA codebases.
  • Business Logic & Rules Understanding: Strong ability to interpret and implement business rules embedded in SCALA code, particularly in relation to data processing, filtering, and cost calculations.
  • Data Handling: Familiarity with SCALA-based data structures and libraries (e.g., Akka, Play Framework) for handling large datasets.
  • Version Control & Build Tools: Familiarity with Git, SBT (Scala Build Tool), and continuous integration pipelines.
