What We're Looking For

Cross River’s SBA Loan team sources, originates, and services portfolios of SBA Business loans of all types, 7(a), Sub-350, SBA LOC Express, and 504 loans and as an SBA Loan Underwriter, you play a key role.  We are looking for an SBA Underwriter to support our growing business by collaborating with clients, professionals and the team in order to prepare reports and provide recommendations on loan requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial information to form a recommendation of approval or denial of new loans.
  • Present analysis and recommendation  for final approval.
  • Collaborate with customers, Business Development Officers and third-party providers to gather all necessary information to present an accurate and complete picture of the loan presented.
  • Maintain superior level of customer service with customers, bank employees and department members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of underwriting experience in SBA lending.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial banking credit policies and procedures, credit/financial statement analysis, loan structuring and cash flow analysis.
  • Advanced working knowledge of accounting principles, tax return analysis and analytical interpretation of balance sheet and income statement analysis and cash flow.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in a commercial bank environment.
  • Demonstrated effective people skills.
  • Effective business writing and professional skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00
