ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark – providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

What will you do in this role?

As a Satellite Operations Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that ICEYE can successfully deliver our exceptional products and data to our valued customers. Throughout your shift, you will work closely with our team of operators, collaboratively managing the operations console. This will include overseeing the seamless operation of our fleet of satellites and providing invaluable support to swiftly handle any unexpected contingencies that may arise on either the fleet or the ground systems. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of Satellite Operations by creating innovative procedures and tools. Additionally, you will be responsible for fleet maintenance, engaging in simulated operations prior to launches, and playing a crucial part in the Launch and Early Orbit Operations.

This role offers a schedule with an 8-hour shift basis. You will work on a 6 on 4 off rotation, covering mornings, evenings, and nights. Specifically, the morning shift is from 7am to 3pm, the evening shift is from 3pm to 11pm, and the night shift is from 11pm to 7am.

Requirements

Required:

  • Relevant university degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Space studies, Applied Physics or similar, or equivalent experience in a related role.
  • Keen attention to detail with an exceptional ability to stay focused.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly.
  • Excellent English language skills (both written and verbal).
  • Flexible availability for scheduled working hours, including morning, evening, and night shifts on a 365/24/7 basis.
  • Genuine interest in the Space Industry and Satellite Operations.

Preferred:

  • Space background
  • Knowledge about satellite systems
  • Knowledge about orbital mechanics
  • Familiarity with Linux system
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud (Jira, Confluence)
