SAT/ACT Tutor, Full Test (Remote)

TPAPT, a national consortium of over 12,000 local tutors, IECs, and test prep professionals has a chapter that is hiring for an SAT/ACT Tutor! Experience tutoring all sections of the SAT or ACT is a prerequisite.

About the position:

  • Tutoring can take place at any time of day, so the work hours are flexible (though most of the tutoring will be in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends).  
  • Pay will start at $75/hr   
  • Position. is classified as PT Employee (W2)
  • Looking for folks who can commit to at least 1 year of assignments

What the successful hire can expect:

  • An initial training period in which the tutor will learn more about the SAT and ACT and how

to teach them (this will take time, so patience is necessary)

  • A probationary period with limited tutoring assignments (tutors need to demonstrate

excellence before taking on a full load of tutoring)

Requirements

  • A passion for teaching (and learning too!)
  • Previous teaching/tutoring experience with the GMAT or GRE
  • 90th percentile or above scores on the SAT or a 32 or greater on ACT
  • Availability and desire to tutor 10 to 20 hours per week
  • Great teaching instincts and ability to explain concepts in a variety of ways
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to connect with students
  • Compassionate/understanding attitude and great perceptive ability
  • Willingness to learn new methods and approaches to tutoring
  • Collaborative spirit and willingness to also sharenew ideas that can make the rest of the tutors better
