LOCATION: This position is an onsite role, based in Indianapolis, IN at the Clif Bar Plant.
Mission: Ensure a high level of employee safety, and food safety. The Sanitation Coordinator will ensure compliance with Clif Bar Baking Company standards and procedures for sanitation, government, and third party regulations. This position will also support and implement processes that meet the requirements of SQF.
Responsibilities & Outcomes:
- Ensure personal safety, food safety and quality protocols are followed.
- Provides a professional, high standard of leadership to the team(s) within their span of responsibility that ultimately supports a positive level of engagement and inclusivity. This includes being fair, equitable and accountable to the standards set for Safety, Quality, efficiencies, work practices and professional conduct.
- Serves as a sanitor-trainer. The Coordinator is responsible for coaching and training new sanitors, and providing refresher training/assisting existing sanitors.
- Ensure personal safety, food safety and quality protocols are followed.
- Ensure foot sprayers are cleaned and working properly.
- Complete daily master cleaning schedule (PIC/PEC) tasks.
- Complete daily bakery cleaning tasks.
- Assist the Production and Sanitation team members in line clean up as needed.
- Coordinators serve as the sanitation point of contact with the maintenance team.
- Provide the required leadership to resolve equipment issues expeditiously and where needed
- Seek team lead support in a timely manner.
- Perform all other related duties as requested.
What You Bring:
- Agility over Perfection.
- Understanding of manufacturing and sanitation requirements to meet personnel safety, food safety, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of acid, alkali, and sanitizing chemicals.
- Knowledge of Safe Quality Foods (SQF) audit system.
- Experience in training sanitation and production personnel.
- Experience with clean in place (CIP) and clean out of place (COP) systems.
- Experience with previous manufacturing plant food production a strong
- Experience performing sanitation activities in an organic food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Training skills with ability to develop own curriculum
- Be flexible and available to interact and connect with people at all levels in the organization.
- Be self-directed and motivated.
- Have excellent judgment and handle highly confidential information with thoughtfulness, candor, and discretion.
- Demonstrate proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Display the ability to multi-task and be effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially when interacting with team and suppliers.
- Proven ability to collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams.
