Department Overview: The Analytics and Business Intelligence (ABI, pronounced “abbey”) provide data-led insight to different decision makers through standard and ad hoc reports and appropriate data management for the reported data sets. 

 

Our Sales, Marketing and Helpdesk teams use a selection of Salesforce Cloud’s to deliver their own business outcomes and we have need of an experienced Salesforce Reporting Analyst to join the team and produce reports and dashboards within the Salesforce ecosystem, to be consumed by those teams and their management and leadership. 

 

The reporting should be tightly aligned to the identified personas and their use cases and approached as part of an approved roadmap, that will necessarily include maintenance on existing reports. 

 

The ABI team manages a centralised Data Warehouse that includes datasets from the Salesforce Clouds. Part of this role is identifying whether a specific reporting requirement should be serviced within the Salesforce ecosystem or should be serviced from the Data Warehouse. 

 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities for this role are: 

  • Produce reports in the Salesforce ecosystem based upon defined user stories 
  • Produce dashboards in the Salesforce ecosystem based upon defined user stories 
  • Production of reports includes 
  • Collaborating with Product Managers to translate the requirements into user stories,  
  • Identifying whether the requirement is best serviced within salesforce or the data warehouse 
  • Production of dashboard wireframes,  
  • measure definitions  
  • Authoring the data product 
  • Identify dependencies within Salesforce Clouds to enable requested reporting (e.g. additional fields) and liasing with the Centre of Excellence to roadmap these improvements 
  • Liasing with the wider ABI reporting team on changes made within Salesforce and impacts on downstream reporting requirements in the Civica Data Warehouse 
  • Answering queries about the existing reports 

Essential Competencies

  • Creation of reports and dashboards in Salesforce Sales Cloud, including Opportunities and Leads objects and how they relate 
  • Comfortable with custom objects and how to use the Object Data Model to identify relationships 
  • Understanding of key sales metrics, such as Pipe Generation, Opportunity Win Rates and Pipeline Progression velocity 
  • Creation of internal and user facing documentation 
  • Experience working in a user story based manner, and delivering to agreed deadlines 

 Preferred Skills

  • Creation of reports and dashboards in Salesforce Service Cloud 
  • Excel to intermediate or advanced level 
  • T-SQL basic or intermediate level
