About our Sales Engineering team:
R3’s Sales Engineering team that you will be part of is responsible for engaging with customers, partners and prospects to position our products in various markets and drive adoption. The team provides technical expertise and domain knowledge throughout the sales process including presentations and demos, requirements gathering, business case analysis, RFP responses, solution proposals and high-level designs.
 
About your Internship:
As a Sales Engineering Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting R3’s enterprise sales activities. This position offers a unique opportunity to understand and solve business problems in a customer driven environment while also developing prototypes with R3’s products to show the art of the possible. Engage in weekly one-to-one sessions with your manager to discuss feedback and set goals for the upcoming week. Gain insights from leaders across the organisation, offering you a holistic view of how a pioneering tech start-up operates from Product to Sales. Showcase your work, learn from experienced team members, and make the most of the opportunities presented during your internship.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a demo project (the theme of which will be discussed with you based on your interests). The aim of this project is to build a presentable demo based on Corda - hands on coding skills are essential! 
  • Assist the Sales Engineering team inclient sessions (explain R3 products, gather requirements, plan workshops, etc.) 
  • Work closely with other business units in R3 to develop Sales Engineering materials and collateral (presentations, feature descriptions, a catalogue for common questions and answers, etc.) 

Requirements:

  • Strong Java or Kotlin programming skills (knowledge of JavaScript would also be advantageous)
  • An interest in DLT and the financial industry 
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills and ability to successfully manage tasks. Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills. 
  • Proactive, self-motivated and goal oriented with excellent attention to detail 
  • Knowledge or experience in distributed architectures (e.g. cloud computing, Kubernetes, messaging, networks) would be advantageous 

Additional Information:

  • Please note that our Summer internship will be running from June-September 2024 and we can therefore only consider applicants who can commit to these time frames.
  • Moreover, we cannot provide sponsorship for this position so candidates will need to have the right to work in the UK if they are to be considered.
