Job Description: Sales Engineer Internship
As a Technical Customer Engineering Intern, you will learn and develop the foundational skills needed to drive business growth. During your internship, you will be actively engaged in understanding customer needs, providing technical solutions and effectively articulating the value of our products or services. Your role will be pivotal in effectively communicating technical information to customers and helping to develop and maintain relationships to build trust. The knowledge gained through your engineering courses will be a critical foundation upon which you will continue to build through the tasks during the internship.

Objectives of the role

Understanding customer needs and aligning product offerings with their requirements.

Providing technical expertise and guidance to customers throughout the sales process.

Conducting product demonstrations and delivering compelling presentations to showcase the value of our solutions.

Collaborating with the sales team to identify and qualify new customer opportunities.

Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Contributing to sales strategies, pricing decisions and contract negotiations based on technical considerations.

Work with customers’ engineering teams to help integrate Astera Labs’ semiconductor solutions into next generation server systems. This requires a solid understanding of circuit design, signal integrity, and power management principles to recommend design improvements and ensure product compatibility

Work closely with internal engineering teams to gather feedback on product performance in real-world applications (AI, General Compute, and Storage). Use this feedback to help improve product designs or suggest new features that align with customer needs
Your tasks

Gain in-depth knowledge of semiconductor products, with emphasis on PCI/CXL/Ethernet protocol connectivity solutions

Hands-on learning of AI HW Infrastructure, including server design architecture, rack integration and silicon development

Learn our product HW and SW features, functionalities and benefits to customers HW Infrastructure

Prepare to present Astera Labs’ product portfolio to customer engineering teams

Study customer needs, pain points and business challenges to create product engagement strategies

Conduct product demonstrations to showcase key features and functionalities and address technical questions and concerns from customers.

Provide first level technical support by answering technical inquiries from customers

Assist Field Application Engineers (FAEs) in troubleshooting customer issues related to high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, CXL). This includes debugging hardware and firmware issues using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and BERTs

Develop and deliver technical documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications and product training sessions.

Collaborate with internal teams to gather technical requirements and ensure the successful implementation of solutions.
