Sales Director, Ad & Event Solutions

About the Role We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic sales leader to join Leadership Connect (LC), leading the growth of our new Ad & Event Solutions business. In this role, you will lead the efforts of selling newer advertising and event solutions, growing a new segment of revenue for the organization. Acting as a key liaison between our events and marketing teams and prospective clients, you will help cultivate relationships, generate leads, and create opportunities for clients to leverage our event solutions for their networking and exposure, and our ad solutions through our newsletter reaching 70K+ recipients. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to drive revenue growth for an ad and events business in its second year, deliver impactful results for clients, and collaborate with sales teams to increase revenue opportunities. Core Functions of the Role:
  • Business Development:
  • Generating interest and sales in LC events and advertising solutions, building relationships with existing clients and prospective buyers, and owning the growth of LC’s events and Ad revenue.
  • Act as a product liaison during industry events, effectively communicating all LC offerings and capabilities to prospective clients, identifying potential leads, and cultivating relationships with prospective clients.
  • Develop and coordinate introductory meetings to connect clients with internal stakeholders and services.
  • Provide post-event reports and recommendations to support future business opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at events, networking opportunities, and client meetings to promote our services.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Develop and implement event strategies that prioritize business development, incorporating sales opportunities, highlighting key offerings, and ensuring prospective clients are engaged throughout the event experience.
  • Oversee external event participation, including researching relevant events, coordinating employee attendance, handling preparation logistics, and managing follow-up efforts to maximize business development opportunities.
  • Analyze post-event feedback and sales metrics to measure success, identify growth opportunities, and recommend strategies for converting attendees into clients.
  • Assist with additional event-related tasks as needed to ensure seamless execution and alignment with overall sales and organizational objectives.
  • About You:
  • We are looking for an experienced sales professional with strong business acumen, excellent relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to manage complex projects.
  • 3-8 years of combined experience in event, media, and Ad sales with strong event planning and strategy expertise.
  • Experienced in sales outreach, lead generation, navigating client value conversations, and a drive to grow a newer business within an existing organization.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in event management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and nurture client relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, ClickUp, and Canva (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of public sector technology, government contracting, procurement, and policy news is preferred based on our client verticals.
