Hey student or recent graduate! Are you motivated to create measurable impact by acquiring new customers and helping to grow existing accounts? Would you like to start your digital commerce career in a low-hierarchy community? At Columbia Road we are now looking for a Sales Associate who is in the final stages of their studies or has recently graduated. You have already gained some work experience in the field and have a growth mindset. With us, you’ll get to grow professionally amongst over 130 exceptionally talented people while helping our customers grow their businesses. Let’s find your Road!
Who we are
In 2016 Columbia Road was founded to challenge the old ways of doing digital business and running online sales – we exist to help our clients sell better in the digital era. This means we don’t do IT projects like most other companies, instead we work to improve our clients’ business results in a measurable way. Development, design, strategy and marketing just happen to be the tools with which we create our impact.
A key part of our mission is to be an excellent place to work. We are a community-led organisation, which means that we trust our employees to make the best decisions about their work themselves. This company model is based on transparency and low hierarchy. All employees have the opportunity to be involved in company-wide decision-making, and the chance to become an owner of Columbia Road by investing in company stocks. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of how we define ourselves and everyone at Columbia Road is committed to these values.
The job and what you'd be working on
We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Sales Associate to join our sales & marketing team in Finland. In this role, you can combine your knowledge of technology and digital sales and marketing, and find opportunities to help future and existing clients.
You would primarily work at the top of our sales funnel, so you’ll have a great opportunity to develop and advance your career in sales, sales development, and business development. Your daily work consists of reaching out to prospective leads of target accounts by email and LinkedIn, but also via phone and in-person to develop new business opportunities. You will manage and nurture inbound and outbound generated leads. You will use CRM, prospecting tools, and other tools effectively to run leads and accounts through every step of the sales cycle.
You are eager to explain the value of Columbia Road’s services to potential and current customers, as well as senior executives. As a part of the sales & marketing team, you will set and achieve targets for our customer acquisition and business growth. You are also someone who proactively growth hacks and optimizes your own work and sales processes.
This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in consultative B2B sales within the digital sales and marketing field. You'll join a team of humble and hard-working professionals who are all about helping people and companies. We pay extra attention to professional growth and learning, and you’ll have a chance for regular mentoring with a Roadie of your own choosing - or several!
Requirements
Here's how you know you're a good fit
Please note: We value close and constant collaboration in our team work – whether it’s with customers, fellow Roadies and/or consultants from other companies – as it enables us to learn from each other and work more efficiently towards a shared goal. Often this is achieved best by working from the same location. Hence, we can only consider candidates who live (or plan to move) within commuting distance of Helsinki and are open to working on-site according to client needs.
We are currently not able to offer visa sponsorships for Finland, so, unfortunately, we can't consider applications from outside EU/EEA.

Recruitment process
The deadline for applications is November 24th, 2024 (Sunday). After sending your application, you can expect to hear back from us by November 29th at latest, and you will be notified of the status of your application at each stage. The interview process consists of a short video phase and one interview round where you will meet two people from our sales team. These phases will be conducted for selected candidates in late November - early December. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
Timing
This is a full-time job running until the end of August. Optimally you would start full-time or part-time already in early spring and the latest start date for this role is in April. Contract details, including the start and end date, contract type, and possible holidays, will be discussed and set together with the selected candidate. After the summer, if expectations have been met from both sides, there's a possibility to continue part-time while you finish your studies (or full-time if you're graduating) with a permanent contract.
