Your Job:
As the Safety & Environmental Health (S&EH) Compliance Analyst, you will play a critical role in EH&S support including developing and supporting Safety initiatives, protocols, training, and injury reporting. You will also be responsible for developing, assessing, and enforcing safety and Pandemic health and safety protocols and procedures to help minimize workplace exposure. In addition, you will perform root cause analysis for safety issues that arise, and partner with management to identify, develop and implement appropriate corrective actions as needed. You are an active team player and have enthusiasm for taking on new projects while maintaining a high level of reliability and professionalism.
Your Responsibilities:
Safety and Environmental and Health
· Develop and provide safety training/programs/policies on safe practices and procedures.
· Work closely with management and associates to increase safety awareness and improve site engagement regarding safety policies and protocol.
· Partner with operations supervisors and leadership to ensure safety protocol compliance.
· Conduct safety observations and ensure compliance with safety plans and document non-compliance and determine if additional training or performance management is required.
· Manage consistent root cause analysis for any safety issues that arise, and issue appropriate corrective actions as needed.
· Provide support for 2nd and shift Safety Committee Members and advise on updates to safety protocol/policies.
· Conduct accident and injury investigations, document and submit required paperwork to S&EH Manager.
· Identify trends in accidents/injuries and recommend policy or protocol changes to reduce/prevent future incidents.
· Ensure employees have the proper tools, equipment, and PPE to work safely and prevent accidents. Identify areas of risk and make recommendations to management to improve safety of building operations.
· Set up/schedule any hospital/clinic visits necessary for injuries and accidents.
· Provide safety orientation to all new hire/temporary associates.
· Lead Emergency Action Plans (Tornado, Fire, or Power Outage) to ensure safety and security of employees and adherence to plans.
· Conduct job safety analyses (JSAs) to identify hazards. Work with operations to ensure appropriate job instructions (JIs) are in place.
· Provide guidance on safety: answer questions, offer feedback, and discuss employees’ safety concerns.
· Provide support with both the Environmental and Health portion of Safety.
· Responsible for forklift training within the building, which include classroom and practice testing as well as maintaining of all documents related to forklift safety.
· Assist in maintaining compliance with all OSHA written protocols.
· Conduct Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Weekly Audits (i.e. fire extinguishers, fire exits, and eye wash stations)
Safety Preparedness and Response
· Stay up to date on latest safety recommendations and regulations for emergency events such as natural disasters, fires or chemical exposure according to CDC and State of Indiana and develop and drive implementation of policies and protocols at the DC.
· Ensure that Operation's policies regarding the emergency event are communicated and enforced.
· Oversee and monitor protocols such as physical distancing, symptom monitoring, disinfecting protocols, and PPE education, protocols and adherence and other duties as may be determined by the operations. Work with Manager, S&EH and HR on any breaches of company Safety/Emergency Preparedness policies.
· Design and distribute safety reporting to management. Keep any tracking data up to date.
· Work closely with the S&EH Manager to respond to possible illnesses and injuries.
Qualifications:
3+ years of environmental health and safety experience
1+ year of Production/Operations Supervisor or Safety Supervisor experience a plus
Must have a positive and outgoing personality
Detail oriented and well organized
Good at prioritizing and multitasking
Able to manage confidential information
Able to wear required PPE for up to 12 hours per shift
Able to repeatedly climb a 3-step ladder, and perform bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, squeezing, and standing for long periods of time
Strong communication and customer service skills
Strong technology skills (navigate cell phone or tablet & texting)
Must maintain confidentiality
