Sydney Veterinary Emergency & Specialists (SVES) has the exciting opportunity for you to expand your clinical knowledge and skillset! 
We are looking for experienced veterinarians to join the team and complete a 12-18 month rotating internship.  
This internship includes rotation through our emergency, medicine and surgery departments providing a supportive environment to develop your skills and fortify your knowledge through case exposure, diagnostic work up and mentorship opportunities. 
Who are we? 
SVES is a purpose-built specialist referral facility supported by a 24-hour emergency service. Our dedicated team consists of Specialists, interns, highly skilled team of vets, and nurses with advanced specialty training. We pride ourselves on creating a collegial workplace environment, with a shared goal of delivering advanced patient and client care.  
As a leading multi-disciplinary hospital, you will have access to various diagnostic equipment including: 
  • AGFA digital radiography 
  • Philips Affinity and CX-50 ultrasounds 
  • 16-slice GE Lightspeed CT 
  • Olympus and Pentax endoscopy 
  • Full IDEXX internal laboratory 
  • Ventilators 
  • Same day MRI service and more! 
Based in the inner eastern suburbs of Sydney SVES is less than 10km away from the bustling CBD, beautiful beaches and coastline where you will enjoy a variety of recreational activities and leisure pursuits in close proximity to the local area which is easily accessible by public transport.
The Role: 
This 12–18-month internship opportunity will be rotating through our speciality departments including surgery and medicine, plus the opportunity to spend time in our emergency, diagnostic imaging and oncology service.
You will be exposed to a varied and diverse caseload and be involved in patient care, case management, assisting in theatre, completing accurate and timely patient records, as well as actively engaging with clients, ensuring they stay well-informed and satisfied.
Your time in the emergency service will be a supported after-hours role involving consultation and workup of referred and first opinion cases. We run a regular study group and Journal Club involving topic reviews and journal article reviews that you will have the opportunity to attend and present at.
 
About You 
The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional task management skills along with an enthusiastic 'can-do' attitude. Previous experience in either a general practice clinic or referral setting with eligibility for veterinary registration in NSW.
