Job Description

As a Support Intern, you will engage with many of Rockwell Automation’s customers across a variety of industries.  Your mission is to support our customers to ensure that systems are maintained and functioning properly. Support Engineer Interns could work in the field (in either the greater Dallas, TX area or the greater Chicago, IL area) or in our Remote Support Office (in Mayfield Heights, OH).

 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Support our customers and field personnel with troubleshooting and resolving customer issues in person or by phone, chat, and email channels

  • Experience the responsibilities of a Field Service and/or Remote Support Engineers to learn how they approach troubleshooting in their respective area of work

  • Manage customer interactions by setting expectations, capturing the issue, resolution and steps taken to troubleshoot, and following up with customers in a timely manner

  • Manage electrical/automation projects with direction

  • Update and draft documentation with solutions to commonly experienced problems to improve customer satisfaction.

 

You will be part of the Intern in Training Accelerate Program, designed to bring students back for multiple terms and helping them transition into full-time Early Career Roles.

 

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Active enrollment in a four year or advanced degree program at an accredited university

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above with a Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering major in progress

  • Experience quickly acquiring new information and skills

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience collaborating with diverse groups, including clients, peers, and managers

For this role, the hourly compensation is from $20 - $32. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience
