This position reports to the Chief Scientific Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Take a lead role in identifying and implementing novel strategies for developing RNA-targeting drugs.
- Work with the leadership to define overall RNA targeting strategy.
- Working closely with the internal ML Data and ML team:
- Enable and apply RNA-structure platform.
- Identify and prioritize RNA-structure targets for small molecule drug discovery.
- Establish relevant technologies internally and manage workflows.
- Manage talent both internally and externally to build a productive team.
- Collaborate with the ML Data and ML teams to build an integrated workflow to enable RNA targeting programs.
- Provide scientific leadership and manage day-to-day lab activities, train and mentor team members.
- Work in close collaboration with external partners as appropriate and manage programs.
- Communicate with the leadership regularly to provide regular updates on the projects/programs to enable efficient decision-making.
Experience:
- PhD with 10+ years of experience in RNA biology and/or biochemistry.
- Excellent knowledge on RNA targets in drug discovery, RNA-protein interactions, RNA biochemistry, and RNA-targeting small molecule strategies.
- Demonstrated ability in leading and efficiently executing novel scientific research.
- Proven hands-on experience in RNA technologies, including RNA target selection, purification, screening technologies including biochemical and biophysical methods.
- Ability to independently drive, manage, execute, and deliver results for a portfolio of complex multifunctional projects.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment to enable integration of state-of-the-art technology platform with RNA biology to accelerate the program pipeline forward.
- Experience in managing third party assay laboratories, CRO’s, collaborations, and budget.
- Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring team members to foster professional development, collaboration, and a productive work environment.
Salary Range: $210,000/year to $250,000/year + equity + benefits
