ChildServe is looking for a nurse or medical assistant to add to our Pediatric Outpatient Clinic! This individual will support our Complex Medical and Pediatric Rehabilitation physician and nursing teams during clinic visits.

What You'll Do
Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care.
Process telephone messages.
Refill prescriptions based on refill procedures.
Maintain patient records confidentially.
Record patient and lab charges for billing department.
Maintain clean exam rooms between patients and refill supplies as needed.
Participate in multidisciplinary care team meetings for each child/young adult when necessary.
Assist the Pediatric Rehab and Complex Care Teams within the Outpatient Clinic.
Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
Consistently communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with children, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
Provide training to children/young adults, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery. Consistently demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment. Coach and support peers to improve care and documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
- RN or LPN license from the State of Iowa
- Experience in the field of developmental disabilities, pediatrics and young adults is preferred.
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Knowledge of clinical terminology and modalities of care delivery systems.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.
- Maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift repeatedly during work hours.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
- This position may be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements. If applicable, specific requirements will be discussed during the interview process
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
