We're currently seeking a Risk Solutions Manager to join our North American team. This role offers you the opportunity to implement ideas you've long wanted to bring to life in your area. As the inaugural member, you'll collaborate closely with brokers and clients to streamline business operations, focusing on safety and efficiency.

SafetyCulture Care (MGA) is an innovative insurance and technology solution tailored specifically for underserved small and medium-sized enterprises to help them run a better, safer business. Our approach emphasizes proactively managing risks through our mobile-first platform. Unlike traditional insurers, we prioritize helping customers by providing both knowledge and the tools to easily implement a safetyculture. 

As our very first Risk Solutions Manager, you will collaborate closely with policyholders, insurance agents, and underwriters to assess risks and implement effective loss prevention strategies. Their goal is to help policyholders use the SafetyCulture Platform to reduce their exposure to losses, which ultimately benefits both the insured and the insurer by minimizing claims and preserving profitability

What will I be doing?

  • Develop and implement risk and safety management programs, best practices and training for several types of business
  • Ability to create and conduct safety presentations and training to large and small groups
  • Develop and conduct virtual and onsite surveys
  • Develop and implement loss prevention measures utilizing SafetyCulture Platform with customers
  • Desktop reviews of third party external risk reports as requested by Underwriting team
  • Provide risk advice to the underwriting team in relation to current and new business opportunities
  • Keep up to date with the latest technical developments across key industries and provide technical updates to the underwriting team
  • Collaboration with stakeholders throughout the value chain
  • Represent SafetyCulture Care at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote our brand and services

What do I need?

  • At least 7 years of successful risk management or loss control/prevention programs
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Entrepreneurial minded and a ‘go at it and figure it out’ approach
  • Knowledge of property risks including OSHA standards, hazardous chemicals, electrical, and fire safety
  • Willingness to not just tick boxes but to understand a customer’s business and how we as a business can best assist them to mitigate claims through practical, relevant and achievable risk improvement recommendations
  • Strong communication skills both in person and onlineTech savvy and a desire for knowledge and learning
  • Team player - you work effectively with cross-functional teams and can manage tasks and interests from many stakeholder groups 
  • Motivation to expand, learn and grow with a high performing team
  • Comfort with multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment
  • Overnight Travel (approximately 25%)

Desirable Skills

  • Relevant qualification in engineering, risk management and/or WHS, EHS, or OSHA standards
  • Previous Risk Engineering experience in private practice or within Insurance industry
  • Knowledge of SafetyCulture Platform (formerly iAuditor) and its product offerings
  • HACCP, BRCGS,GMP, FSMA certification or relevant training with knowledge in the Hospitality/F&B space or Quick Serve Restaurants, a plus
  • Dangerous Goods, hazardous management, and asbestos material assessments
  • Proficiency with operating programs: PPT, G-Suite, CRMs like salesforce or hubspot, slack, jira, confluence, etc.
  • Experience working at a high growth startup
